Spiritual Ministries

Our spiritual ministries at St. Padre Pio Parish extend compassionate care to our community members in various life stages. Pastoral Visitors bring the Eucharist to those who are confined to their homes, while our Side by Side Grief Support Ministry provides comfort and guidance to those navigating loss. The Prayer Line connects individuals with intercessory prayer support, fostering spiritual strength and connection. Additionally, our Wedding and Funeral Ministry ensures meaningful and reverent ceremonies that honour important milestones in their lives. Through these ministries, we strive to embody the spirit of love, compassion, and support within our parish family.

Pastoral Visitors
Pastoral Visitors
Pastoral Visitors visit and comfort the sick of our parish that are in hospital, in a nursing home, or at home. They also bring Holy Communion to the sick and pray with them as needed. They offer support for the dying and also for the bereaved family. They may also be called upon to assist with the giving of Holy Communion at Mass.
Prayer Line
Prayer Line
The Prayer Line is an intercessory prayer ministry composed of dedicated volunteers who pray every day for the needs of the community of St. Padre Pio Parish. Prayer requests are received at the parish office by phone, email or website and then forwarded to the coordinator who forwards them to the volunteers who pray for each intention. Names are kept strictly confidential. Volunteers are always welcome. “In truth I tell you once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them” Matt 18: 19, 20.

Side By Side Grief Support Ministry
Side By Side Grief Support
At the Side by Side Grief Support Ministry, facilitated by Deacon Curtis Boone and team, we offer support to those who are grieving the death of a loved one with one-on-one meetings, weekly informal get-togethers called ‘Coffee, Cookies and Christ’, monthly learning and sharing gatherings on the last Tuesday evening of each month and several full day retreats each year. We offer this support in a sacred, safe space to share and seek comfort within God’s Church.
Wedding and Funeral
Wedding and Funeral Ministry
The St. Padre Pio Wedding and Funeral Ministry, a pillar of compassion within our parish community, stands ready to serve in these significant life events. The Wedding and Funeral Ministry is composed of dedicated individuals who embody the spirit of St. Padre Pio through their unwavering commitment. Their role extends far beyond setting up for these Masses; they are the compassionate individuals who walk alongside families and couples, providing solace and support during some of life's most challenging and heartwarming chapters. With their compassion and presence, they help ensure that these significant moments in the lives of our parishioners are imbued with the love, faith, and comfort that exemplify the teachings of our faith.
